Committed to greening the energy sector, Malaysia’s energy landscape is undergoing a profound transformation. The imperatives of climate change, decarbonisation, and supply-chain volatility are no longer distant challenges—they are immediate and pressing. While these shifts demand bold action, they also present unprecedented opportunities to modernise our national power infrastructure, foster market competition, and catalyse green growth across key economic sectors. These structural shifts require clear policy foresight, robust regulatory frameworks, and market mechanisms capable of supporting long-term economic growth while protecting our environment and citizens.

MyPOWER’s pivotal role serves as a key pillar in driving a comprehensive industry reform through Future-Proofing MESI, and advancing long-term baseload low-carbon energy solutions as Malaysia’s Nuclear Energy Programme Implementing Organisation (NEPIO). In the coming years, these initiatives will be critical to balancing energy trilemma priorities—security, affordability, and sustainability. Navigating these initiatives require collective resolve across government, industry, and the public to ensure our energy ecosystem supports a prosperous and sustainable Malaysia. To this end, I call upon all industry partners to act as catalysts for reform as we build a future-proof energy ecosystem.
